Hyderabad: Tragedy struck a marriage party when the bridegroom and four others died after their vehicle rammed into a roadside tree near Pallipadu village of Konijerla mandal in Khammam district on Friday early hours. The bride is also injured and her condition is stated to be stable.

The victims hailed from Wardhannapet town of Warangal and were returning after the wedding in Tanuku.

Reports said the Innova driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed the vehicle into the tree around 5 a.m.  The marriage was performed at 10.30 pm in Kesava Swamy temple in Paturu of Tanuku in Andhra Pradesh.

The victims were identified as bridegroom Ramakrishna Prasad, his sisters Padma and Sridevi, his brother-in-law Sharath, and driver V Chary.

The bride Durga and another person Chalapathy are injured and undergoing treatment in Khammam government hospital, reports said.
