Man held on charges of theft in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 39-year-old person was arrested by the Madhapur police on charges of automobile theft here on Tuesday. According to the police, the suspect, K Veerabadrappa, a resident of Hydershakote and native of Kurnool district, was working as a peon at Ascendas IT Park, Madhapur.

He was involved in 13 bike theft cases, eight of which were booked at Madhapur police station and one at Jubilee Hills police station.

Madhapur Assistant Commissioner of Police N Shyam Prasad Rao said Veerabadrappa was first caught when the owner of one of the stolen bikes approached the police and informed about the challans generated against her bike.

“A couple of months after the bike was stolen, the complainant, K Prudhvi, noticed her vehicle on Madhapur-Jubilee Hills route. She tried to catch the suspect but he escaped. Based on her complaint, the investigation was conducted and he was arrested,” he said.

Veerabadrappa was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
