Picnic at Taramati Baradari turns tragic, boy drowns in pool

The family held the management of Taramati Baradari responsible for Mushraf’s death and demanded action.

Hyderabad: A summer picnic turned tragic for a family from Banjara Hills when a 14-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at the popular Taramati Baradari in Hyderabad on Saturday.
Mohd Musharaf, a resident of Banjara Hills Road No. 10 went to Taramati Baradari, Golconda, with his uncle’s family for a picnic. Around 5 pm, he stepped into a pool for a swim and drowned. “Initially, the boy was playing in the mini swimming pool meant for amateur swimmers. Somehow, he went into the bigger pool and drowned,” Golconda Assistant Sub Inspector Mohd Ahmed said.

It was only an hour later that Musharaf’s relatives realised that he was missing. They started to search for the boy and found him drowned in the pool. The family rushed him to a private hospital at Tolichowki where doctors declared him brought dead.

The Golconda police shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. They registered a case and handed over the body to the family after the post-mortem examination. The family held the management of Taramati Baradari responsible for Mushraf’s death and demanded action.
