10 including six students injured in Suryapet accident

Suryapet: Ten persons including six engineering college students were injured when an autorickshaw in which they were travelling, was hit by a lorry at Khajapuram village of Ananthagiri mandal in Suryapet on Tuesday evening.

The mishap took place when a passenger autorickshaw was hit by a lorry, which was coming in opposite direction, at Khajapuram village. Six students of Anurag Engineering Colleges and four persons of Ananthagiri village were injured in the incident.

The condition of two students – Ramya Reddy, a native of Nadigudem and Gopinath, a resident of Kodad – is said to be serious.

The incident occurred when the students were returning to Kodad after attending examination in Anurag Engineering College located near Ananthagiri.

Ananthagiri police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to government hospital by 108 Ambulance. The students who received serious injuries, were later shifted to a private hospital in Kodad.

Kodad Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudarshan Reddy visited Government hospital and inquired about the accident.

Ananthagiri Sub-Inspector Manjunath Reddy has informed that a case has been filed and investigation in on.
