30 CRPF jawans test positive for Covid in Kothagudem

On Thursday, 23 personnel were found to be infected and seven more personnel tested positive for the virus on Friday

Kothagudem: As many as 30 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) 151 Battalion have tested positive for Covid-19 in the district, officials said.

District Collector MV Reddy informed the press that the CRPF jawans were stationed at Kaliveru camp in Cherla border in the district. They all belong to different states and had reported at the camp just two weeks ago.

On Thursday, 23 personnel were found to be infected and seven more personnel tested positive for the virus on Friday. The CRPF jawans were shifted to Hyderabad for treatment, he said.

The District Panchayat Officer Ashalatha inspected the camp on Friday, interacted with the CRPF officials and monitored the sanitisation works. The District Collector Reddy appealed to the public not to panic and maintain social distancing to contain the spread of the virus.
