A legend remembered

The giant of Indian cinema, LV Prasad’s 112th birthday was celebrated in Prasad Labs with Krishnam Raju and Jayesh Ranjan, IT Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana, to express their heartfelt wishes to the family of Ramesh Prasad.

Senior hero Krishnam Raju recollected his long association with the legend and narrated how he was encouraged by him and his speech was laden with sentiment from the beginning to the end.

Later, Jayesh Ranjan also remembered many films that were directed, acted and produced by LV Prasad mostly in Hindi, and shared some sweet moments during his college days.

Ramesh Prasad, in his speech, said how his father faced many hurdles and struggle in his initial days. He described his father as a great fighter for his dreams and ideals. All the money he earned was again reinvested in other areas connected only to cinema — be it studios or other things.

In the later stage, Ramesh Prasad said that his father was the major source of inspiration for him to come into business of labs all over the country. He also expressed pride over his father winning the most illustrious award for cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke. Ramesh also reiterated that it was the sole aim of his life to carry his father’s name into unfading memories of tomorrow.

Gold medals and certificates to the students of Prasad Film Institute were also distributed by chief guests at the event.
