Abducted jawan killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh

The deceased jawan was identified as Mannuram Suryavanshi (35) of Ramthala village in Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh state.

Kothagudem: Naxals have killed a CAF jawan, whom they abducted five days ago, in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh state on Friday.

The deceased jawan was identified as Mannuram Suryavanshi (35) of Ramthala village in Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh state.

The jawan, an ironsmith by trade, was attached to Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) 17 Battalion that was assigned to construction work.

The deceased jawan went out of the camp at Patheda village on September 13 in civil dress and was went missing since then. His dead body was found on Gangalur-Bijapur road, the camp commander Balaram Mourya informed the presspersons.

Suryavanshi was said to have been strangled to death and an injury on his head was also found. The Maoist Gangalur-Bijapur Area Committee left a letter at the dead body of the jawan accusing him spying for police and committing atrocities against public.
