Mancherial: District Collector Bharati Hollikeri led by example by removing weeds growing alongside the streets of Indaram village of Jaipur mandal and lifting trash as part of the ongoing 30-day action plan for developing villages, on Wednesday. She was accompanied by District Panchayat Raj Officer Veerabuchchaiah and Indaram Sarpanch Manjula.

Bharati tried to motivate youngsters, women and elderly persons by personally taking part in cleaning activities in village. She visited all streets of the village and created awareness among owners of certain houses over the need to have tidy environs.

The IAS officer suggested rural folks to come forward to keep their villages clean and to extend their labor for developing their habitations. She wanted them to play a vital role in growing their villages and advised them to chalk out an action plan for creating certain amenities and to spend funds granted by government.

The Collector sought the residents to form graveyard and dumping yard in the village and requested philanthropists to donate land for the facilities. She informed that special teams would inspect the progress of the rural parts through the 30-day action plan, soon.
