Hyderabad: Veteran actor Vankayala Satyanarayana, who acted in more than 180 films in Telugu, passed away in Visakhapatnam on Monday. He was 78.
According to sources, the actor was suffering from respiratory issues for quite some time.
Born in Visakhapatnam, Satyanarayana secured a job in Hindustan Shipyard, but chose to be a part of theatre. Beginning his career in Telugu cinema with Needaleni Aadadh, he rose to fame after playing the role of a station master in Seethamaalaxmi.
Some of his well known films include Suthradharulu, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Subhalekha, Donga Kollu, Ooriki Ichina Maata, Vijetha and Oye. He was also a part of a few Hindi and Tamil films. Apart from films, Satyanarayana had made a mark for himself in television serials too.
