Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development KT Rama Rao on Friday assured Mumtaz Khan of AIMIM that adequate funds would be provided for widening of roads around Charminar.

Responding to Khan who said that alternate roads around Charminar that were taking the extra load of traffic after the implementation of the Charminar pedestrianisation project were simply not enough and work was stuck due to lack of funds with the GHMC, the Minister said if GHMC requires funds, then the civic body would be provided with the same for road widening.

The AIMIM member said the road to Shah Ali Banda, between Talbkatta and Darushifa as well as Fateh Darwaza, was jammed as the road widening project was not progressing.
