Adilabad Tigers emerge champions in Telangana T20 League

In a low-scoring match, Adilabad Tigers posted a modest 148 runs in 20 overs. Ranji all-rounder Ravi Teja scored a 34-ball 33 runs (4x4) while Benjamin Thomas struck 36 (37 balls) but C Hitesh Yadav’s attacking 18-ball 34-run (3x5, 1x4) that lifted Tigers to a decent total.

Hyderabad: Adilabad Tigers edged past Medak Mavericks by nine runs to win the inaugural edition of the Venkataswamy Memorial Telangana T20 League at the Uppal Stadium on Sunday night.

In a low-scoring match, Adilabad Tigers posted a modest 148 runs in 20 overs. Ranji all-rounder Ravi Teja scored a 34-ball 33 runs (4×4) while Benjamin Thomas struck 36 (37 balls) but C Hitesh Yadav’s attacking 18-ball 34-run (3×5, 1×4) that lifted Tigers to a decent total. For Mavericks, Mickil Jaiswal picked up three wickets conceding 31 runs while B Sandeep took two wickets for 20 runs.

Mavericks began in style as they cruised away to 105 for 3 in 15 overs. However, they lost their way in the last five overs and finally lose the final. Requiring 44 runs from 30 balls, Hitesh Yadav, Naresh Goud and T Ravi Teja bowled spendidly to choke the Mavericks. Mickil Jaiswal made a vain bid but in the end, Tigers roared away to victory.
