Hyderabad: Traders at the Begum Bazaar commercial market in the city will be opening their shops on Monday after a self-imposed one-week lockdown.
Laxminarayana Rathi, president of Begum Bazaar Kirana shops association said that the shops will open on Monday for the public to enable them to make purchases of essential commodities. “Our intention to close the shops was to help people especially traders and salesmen self-isolate themselves at homes for the period. If at all anyone is showing symptoms they will be asked to remain away from the market and avail treatment,” he said.
He further said that after a few days they will hold a meeting again and take a call if the market need to closed to be again. “From Monday onwards the market will remain open between 9 am and 4 pm,” he said.
Meanwhile other markets across the city including the Troop Bazaar, Siddiamber Bazar, Pathergatti, General Bazaar and Regimental Bazaar will also open up from Monday.
