Staff of PJTS Agricultural University donating food items to the inmates of an orphanage in Rajendranagar mandal on Monday.

Hyderabad: The administrative and teaching staff working at the administrative office of the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) donated food items to the orphanages at Budwel and Kismathpur of Rajendranagar mandal limits here on Monday,
The donations were organised in view of jayanthi celebrations of three great social reformers Dr. Babu Jagjeevan Ram, Mahatma Jyothibha phule and Dr BR Ambedkar, according to a press release issued here.

The PJTSAU Registrar, Dr S Sudheer Kumar along with university officials, teaching and non teaching staff handed over food items including rice, red gram, green gram, groundnut oil and coconut oil tins, sanitary napkins, notebooks, pencils and pens, all worth Rs 45,000 to the orphanages.

The initiative was taken following university vice-chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao’s call to the staff to do social service for the needy people instead of just celebrating jayanthis of great leaders within the office premises, the release added.
