Hyderabad: The Noel David-led ad-hoc selection committee named P Akshath Reddy to lead the Hyderabad team, in absence of Ambati Rayudu, for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare one-day tournament to be held in New Delhi from September 19 to October 20.
The five-member senior selection committee of David, Vijay Mohan Raj, Vivek Jaisimha, Noshir Mehta and Arvind Shetty, which was appointed by the steering committee of the players on Tuesday, announced a 15-member which had no surprises. As Rayudu will be busy with India duties for Asia Cup in Dubai, opener Akshath has been entrusted to lead the side.
Left-arm seamer CV Milind, who did not play last season because of injury, makes a return to the team. Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj, who took eight wickets against the visiting Australian A team in Bengaluru, has also been included in the team.
