Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Thursday instructed Central and State government departments to ensure good arrangements for the safe and smooth departure of Haj pilgrims from the Hyderabad embarkation point.
Reviewing the arrangements being made in coordination with different departments at Haj House here, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wanted excellent arrangements for the comfort and convenience of the pilgrims.
Ali asked Saudi Airlines authorities to ensure that no Haj flight is delayed and all amenities are provided to the pilgrims. “This year, 7,800 pilgrims belonging to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka will fly from Hyderabad to Jeddah,” he said, adding that representatives from 26 departments and organisations participated in the meeting.
AK Khan, Advisor to Government, Minority Welfare, conducted the proceedings and sought assurance from all the departments’ officials for their active cooperation. He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts for a successful conduct of Haj camp.
Haj Committee chairman Masiullah Khan asked GMR to provide efficient services to pilgrims at the Haj Terminal. He said the Haj Camp 2018 will commence from July 30 at Haj House, pilgrims will start proceeding for Haj from August 1 and the last flight would fly out on August 16. Each flight would carry 300 pilgrims.
Mohammed Saleem, MLC and Chairman of TS Wakf Board, assured that all efforts would be made for smooth conduct of Haj and that it would work in coordination with the Haj committee.
Earlier SA Shukoor, Special Officer of State Haj Committee, welcomed the officials and lauded their impressive performance. He said because of their cooperation, Telangana had got the pride of place in the country.
Mohammed Farooq Hussain MLC, Shahnawaz Qasim, Director Minorities Welfare Department, Tayyaba Afendi Member Haj Committee of India participate in the meeting. Officials from Telangana State Wakf Board, GMR, Customs, Immigration, CISF, BCAS, Saudi Arabian Airlines, IPM, Princess Esra Hospital, Fire Services, RTC, PWD, Police and Traffic Police departments also attended the meeting.
