All ‘Rythu Bazaars’ to get free Wi-Fi

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to ensure cashless transactions at all Rythu Bazaars across the State.

Amaravati: To ease business transactions in the market, the Andhra Pradesh government is planning to install free Wi-Fi connection at all the Rythu Bazaars (Vegetable markets of farmers) in the State.

Speaking at a teleconference with the district collectors on Monday, AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to provide free Wi-Fi at all the Rythu Bazaars in the State, saying a major hand of the urban residents purchase vegetables from these Bazaars.

Naidu also instructed the officials to ensure cashless transactions at all the Bazaars across the State. He directed the officials to make at least one village in each mandal as cashless transactions village. Tuning with this spirit, the rest of the villages would turn as cashless transaction villages, he said.

Students at the Universities in AP are utilizing the free Wi-Fi service. Naidu said the laying of fiber cables in the State would be completed soon to provide internet, phone and cable TV services through a single cable. Naidu also informed that Rs 2,500 crore worth currency received from RBI was distributed to all the districts based on their demand, adding that enough money is available in the ATMs. The State would get Rs 1,600 crore worth new currency on Wednesday, he said. The State would get Rs 500 crore worth new Rs 500 notes, and the remaining 2,000 crores in Rs 2,000 denomination notes.
