Telugu actor Allu Sirish on Saturday planted a sapling near his residence to send across the message  save nature.

A slew of Tollywood stars have been taking forward the Green India Challenge by planting saplings and following actor Vishwak Sen’s nomination, Allu Sirish accepted the challenge to spread the green initiative further.

With Rajya Sabha member Joginpally Santosh Kumar spearheading the initiative Green India Challenge, actors and telly stars Udaya Bhanu, Kartikeya, Renu Desai, comedian Brahmanandam have so far planted saplings.

Speaking on the occasion, Sirish thanked Santosh Kumar for starting a commendable challenge which helps the environment. “Given the present scenario, it is really important that we take proper care of the environment. We all should take up this challenge and voluntarily plant saplings. Vishwak Sen recently nominated me for the Green India challenge and I have completed the same. I am further nominating my nephew Aarnav, my nieces, Anvitha, Samsara, and Nivritha. Our future generations should know how to plant trees and conserve them,” Sirish said.

On the work front, the actor is presently working on his untitled upcoming projects. The official announcement on the projects is to be made soon.
