Nalgonda: A 35-year-old man from Nalgonda town tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. A native of Sriramnagar on Panagal Road in Nalgonda, he was living in Vijayawada and working at a petrol bunk there.
He came to Nalgonda on Friday from Vijayawada. As he was suffering from serious health problems, his relatives shifted him to a private hospital in Hyderabad where he tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. Later, he was shifted to Gandhi hospital for treatment.
Since his house is adjacent to a hair salon shop, people who went to the shop for a hair-cut since Friday are in a state of panic. District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kondal Rao visited Sri Ramnagar and collected information from his family members. Six of his family members have been shifted to quarantine centre in district government hospital at Nalgonda and samples were collected from them for COVID testing.
Kondal Rao said the medical staff were making all efforts to trace the contacts of the corona positive person. Disinfectant measures were also taken up in the area.
