AP bizman held in Hyderabad for road crash

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police on Monday arrested Ch Srinivasa Rao (44), a businessman from Ongole in Andhra Pradesh, involved in a road crash at Narsingi here.

In the wee hours on Sunday, Srinivasa Rao who was driving his car allegedly under the influence of alcohol crashed into another car on service road near the ORR killing V Nageshwara Rao(42), a private employee from Budwel on the spot.

Officials said the service road from Nanakramguda Rotary towards My Home Avtar has been notified as ‘One Way’ and proper signage boards have also been installed by the HMDA.

Investigation by the Narsingi police revealed that Srinivasa Rao was allegedly driving the car in drunken condition and his blood alcohol content was detected to be 102 mg/100 ml of blood, whereas the legally permissible limit is only 30 mg/100ml of blood.

“As the offences are established, the suspect was arrested, produced before the magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. The chargesheet will be filed after completion of investigation,” said S M Vijay Kumar, DCP, Traffic, Cyberabad.
