Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party national president N Chandrababu Naidu has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of shilding the corrupt persons like YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy.

Addressing the road shows at Narsipatnam, Chodavaram and other places in Visakhapatnam district on Friday, he noted that Modi, who describes himself as the nation’s chowkidar, was apart from shielding the likes of Jagan, was also unleashing the agencies – the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate and the IT department on his political opponents. There were at least 11 cases of economic offences against Jagan which had been going on for years.

“He spent 14 months in Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad. Every Friday, Jagan attends CBI court in Hyderabad. He amassed huge wealth by foul methods when his father was the Chief Minister of the undivided Andhra Pradesh. But he now has friend and protector in Prime Minister Modi and a staunch supporter in Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao,” he alleged. He also said that the trio of Modi-Jagan-KCR was out to destroy the State, but he would do everything possible to stop them to save the State. He also asked Jana Sena Party president to decide for himself if he wanted to support criminal elements in politics or work for people’s welfare.

Observing that Pawan Kalyan gave the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha ticket to former CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana, who investigated cases relating to Jagan and filed charge-sheets, Naidu wanted the former CBI officer to explain to the public the cases against Jagan on money laundering and quid pro quo.
