AP mulls introduction of ‘Bhoodhar’ card

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh government plans to introduce ‘Bhoodhar card’ on the lines of Aadhar card for a digital record of each individual’s land holdings with a particular number.

This idea was mooted by him at the Janmabhoomi programme in his native Chittoor district on Tuesday.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu explained that the status of the land could be found out with ease

and at the same time there would be safeguards to ensure data security. Also, there would be geo-tagging and one can access the record at the click of a button, he added.

The Government is also comtemplating to provide digital lockers to citizens so that they need not carry all important documents relating to their health and other matters. They could access the data anytime  they want, he told the gathering. The government would leverage technology to provide good governance and to provide quality services to the public, he stated.
