AP: Ordinance to scrap TTD governing body on the cards

Visakhapatnam: The new YSR Congress Party government in Andhra Pradesh is likely to come out with an ordinance to scrap the existing governing bodies of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) and other important temples in the State.

At present, it is engaged in the exercise, taking care to avoid any legal tangle in the issue. As there is a possibility of taking the matter to court in case notice is issued, the ordinance is being contemplated to amend the AP Endowment Act of 1987 through a Cabinet decision.

In case it is not done, the ordinance will be issued when the Assembly meets for the first time on June 12, it is learnt.
