Visakhapatnam: The special AP legislative Assembly session is likely to be convened on January 20 to decide on the three capitals including Amaravati which will remain the legislative capital along with executive capital of Visakhapatnam and high court at Kurnool.

The high power committee which is studying the recommendations of GN Rao committee and the Boston Consultative Group on the capital issue was given deadline to submit its report by January 20. However, the government is keen on finalising it as early as possible and therefore the high power committee is expected to give its report in a couple of days.

The Cabinet will then discuss the report and take a decision and table it in the Assembly at its special session, a joint session of the legislature, likely to be held on January 20, for approval and going ahead with work on construction of capital.
