Applications invited for liquor outlets in Mancherial

Narasimha Reddy informed that the district has a total of 39 shops fall under the slab of 0-50,000 population and 30 shops with 50,001-5 lakh population each.

Mancherial: Mancherial district Prohibition and Excise department’ superintendent D Narasimha Reddy said that applications were being invited for operating liquor outlets in the district for the two year period of 2017-2019 from September 13 to 19.  He addressed pressmen here on Wednesday.

Narasimha Reddy informed that the district has a total of 39 shops fall under the slab of 0-50,000 population and 30 shops with 50,001-5 lakh population each. He stated that applications can be had from office of the superintendent, Mandal Parishad Development Officers and Mandal Revenue Officers. The superintendent said that the last date for submitting applications was September 19. The applicants should furnish demand draft (DD) of Rs one lakh (refundable cost of application) and another DD for 5 per cent of total tax The Annual Retail Shop Excise Tax, which was known licensee fee, two latest passport-size photographs, Identity card and photocopy of self-attested PAN card. One can drop applications at the office of Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise department in Hyderabad, he added.    

It may be mentioned that the state government had announced its new excise policy for the two-year period of 2017-19 on Tuesday. For the population up to 50,000, the Annual Retail Shop Excise Tax is Rs 45 lakh, while Rs 55 lakh for the shops fall under the slab of a population between 50,001 and 5 lakh.
