With the incident of question paper leak last year, EAMCET went for a toss. Now, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University is making foolproof arrangements for smooth conduct of EAMCET, scheduled to be held on May 12. Electronic gadget including watch will not be allowed in examination hall. “Candidates will not be allowed for the test if they are late by even a minute,” JNTU-H Registrar and EAMCET Convener, N Yadaiah tells Yuvraj Akula.
How are the arrangements going?
This year, 2,20,070 candidates including 1,41,054 for engineering and 79,013 for agriculture and medical stream have registered. Accordingly 400 test centres for engineering, agriculture, and medical stream have been constituted across the State. In neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, 10 centres are located in Tirupati, 29 in Vijayawada, and eight in Visakhapatnam. Hyderabad which is divided into six zones and has about 84 test centres. All arrangements are in place at test centres.
What extra measures being taken?
The incident happened at the printing press. This year, we have made foolproof arrangements for holding the test. Electronic gadgets including watches will not be allowed into examination hall. All the candidates will be allowed into the test centre one hour before the exam and they will not be allowed even if they are late by one minute. Candidates cannot leave examination hall till the test concludes and they are advised to use washroom before entering the exam hall only.
What can a student carry into hall?
Along with hall ticket, candidates need to carry online application form. After completing the test, optical mark recognition (OMR) answer sheet and filled in online application form have to be handed over to the invigilator. Failing so, candidates result will be withheld. This apart, candidates need to carry only black or blue ball point pen inside the test hall.
Will carbon copy of OMR sheet be given?
Yes. Candidates who appear for the examination will be provided with a carbon copy of their OMR sheet once they complete the examination.
Any plans to capture biometric details?
Biometric data (finger print) of students will be recorded. They will be allowed one hour before commencement of exam and in the meantime their biometric details will be captured.
