American Telangana Association’s Prapancha Telangana Mahasabhalu from June 29 to July 1 in Houston

Hyderabad: A slice of Telangana will come alive at Houston, United States during the American Telangana Association’s (ATA) Prapancha Telangana Mahasabhalu to be held from June 29 to July 1.

This year’s theme for the convention is “Rythe Raju” and it is being dedicated to late Jnanapith awardee C Narayana Reddy.

ATA is focusing on helping the farming community from the State to inculcate new agricultural methodologies, besides felicitating the best for practising innovative farming practices. Companies are being invited to exhibit their latest products and other equipment that will make things easy for the farmers.

The idea is to stress on the importance of farming and the need to adopt innovative farming techniques, ATA chairman Karunakar Madhavaram told Telangana Today.

Over 8,000 people of Telangana origin from 18 countries are likely to participate in the celebrations. During the convention, which is being organized at George Brown Convention Centre, Houston, ATA will be showcasing Telangana’s culture and tradition through different mediums.

A host of activities are lined up during the three-day Mahasabhalu. Like last edition, this year too, ATA is organizing spiritual programmes. Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam will be performed on July 1 and Archakas from Bhadrachalam will be performing the celestial wedding. The Utsava Murthis from Bhadrachalam are being brought, besides prasadams, said ATA president Satyanarayana Reddy Kandimalla.

Folk artists are being invited to perform at the convention and more importantly, there will be Ashtavadanams and other literary sessions as well. Over 300 stalls showcasing jewellery, automobile, airlines, retail, real estate and many more will be set up at the venue. It is not just fun and frolic, ATA is arranging matrimonial sessions and business networking programmes for Telangana NRIs, added Reddy.
