He suggested them to encourage farmers to cultivate traditional crops and said that farmers need to adopt modern methods for witnessing profits. He felicitated Shaikath Harashvardhan, a scientist of ICRISAT for inventing a new variety of red gram seeds.
The maiden mill in the State is established and run by tribal women of self-help groups of Wankidi. It was established under a pilot project taken up by ITDA Utnoor. The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) provided seeds of produce to the farmers. The crop was raised in 3,000 acres.
