Banswada Congress ticket aspirant may run as Independent candidate

Nizamabad: Banswada Congress ticket aspirant for Assembly elections B Malyadri Reddy on Friday announced that if Congress party does not issue him the ticket, he will contest as an Independent candidate from the constituency.

Malyadri Reddy on Friday conducted a meeting with his followers at BMR Gardens, Varni. His followers Karlam Sai Reddy, former Market Committee chairman and others participated.

Malyadri Reddy said that he had been working for the Congress in Banswada constituency for the last five years, and making efforts to strengthen the party by meet party activists regularly. But a few party leaders were trying to issue the ticket to another candidate (Kasula Balaraju) which was not correct, he said. He added that if the party issues ticket to Balaraju, he would contests polls as an Independent candidate from Banswada and give tough fight to other candidates.

He said that AICC president Rahul Gandhi and other leaders had accepted his candidature, but a few State leaders were opposing it. He appealed to TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders to convince party high command to issue the ticket to him and ensure victory.
