Hyderabad: For the smooth conduct of Haj Camp 2019 that commence on Thursday, all required arrangements are being made at the Haj House in Nampally.
The first batch of 400 pilgrims belonging to Karnataka is scheuled to depart to Saudi Arabia on July 18 from the Haj House via the RGI Airport, Shamshabad.
A total of 8,340 Haj pilgrims belonging to Telangana and some districts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra will leave for the pilgrimage from Hyderabad.
Around 4,780 pilgrims from Telangana will be going on the pilgrimage through the Telangana State Haj Committee and some more persons who figure on the waiting list might get an opportunity at a later stage.
Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Mohd Masiullah Khan said those from Telangana will start leaving for the pilgrimage from July 26 and the last flight will leave on August 4. Pilgrims have to give online confirmation as soon as they receive the details of their flight schedule on their mobile phones and report 10 hours before their scheduled departure at the Haj Camp.
Special carriers of Air India with a capacity of 420 persons will ferry the pilgrims from Hyderabad to Saudi Arabia. “As usual the pilgrims will be accommodated in the old and new building. Arrangements for providing food for the pilgrims during their stay in the camp and also cots to take rest or sleep, are in place,” said Khan.
The vast ground at the Haj House has been converted into a temporary air-conditioned camp where officials of various departments, including Customs, Immigration, Air India and Haj Committee, will be setting up counters for facilitating the documentation process. “The State Haj Committee will be providing Saudi Riyal 2100 each to the pilgrims. If they want more, they can exchange the Indian currency for Saudi Riyals from the counter of Darussalam Bank set up at the camp,” said the Chairman.
Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali will be one of the dignitaries during the flagging-off of the first batch of Haj pilgrims belonging to Telangana. The State Haj Committee officials are also making efforts to have Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as chief guest for the programme.
