Night services coming from other depots were being stopped. The authorities of Manuguru, Kothagudem and other depots in the district have also cancelled operating night services. The Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt informed that Revenue, Forest and other department personnel going into remote villages in agency area implementing 30-day Action Plan were asked to give the police prior information.

Similarly, political leaders of both the ruling and opposition parties have been asked to inform the police about their movements in the villages beforehand. Combing operations have been intensified with a focus on Gundala, Pinapaka and Cherla, he added.

It may be noted that posters and pamphlets by Maoists have appeared at many agency villages in Kothagudem and neighbouring districts on Thursday appealing to the people to organise celebrations from September 21 to November 8 marking the 15th foundation day of the Maoist Party.
