Bid to dacoity by gang foiled in Hyderabad

The five persons had got the idea after coming to know through social media about a dacoity at Shahalibanda wherein a jeweller was robbed by a few persons

Hyderabad: A dacoity planned by five persons, including two rowdy sheeters, was foiled by the Commissioner’s Task Force (South). The police seized five daggers, chili powder and knuckle dusters from the gang.

Acting on a tip off, the police caught Mir Akbar Ali, 24, of Yakutpura and Syed Irfan Hussain alias Gora Irfan, 20, both rowdy sheeters from Rein Bazaar along with Mohammed Muzaffar, 25, a suspect from Bhavaninagar, Mohammed Rafi, 21, of Balapur and Mohd Abdul Hassan alias Kala Jamoon, 28, of Madannapet.

“The five were planning to attack and rob businessmen who carry cash late in the nights after winding up their business. The gang was trying to commit dacoity in the old city and were caught while they were waiting to loot businessmen at Yakutpura,” Additional DCP (Task Force) S Chaitanya Kumar said, adding that the gang members procured five daggers from Nanded to commit the offence.
