Birth centenary celebrations of PV begin in Australia

Hyderabad: The birth centenary celebrations of former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao have been kickstarted in Australia on Saturday. TRS NRI wing organised the celebrations in Melbourne, Sidney, Canberra, Adelaide and Brisbane among others, ahead of India.

TRS Australia president Kasarla Nagender Reddy said as per the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, the birth centenary celebrations of Narasimha Rao were organised in a foreign nation for the first time in an attempt to create awareness about the former Prime Minister and his achievements. “It is an attempt to honour the Son of the Soil and recall his services to the nation in various capacities,” he added.

TRS in-charge in Australia’s Victoria State Uppu Sairam stated that Narasimha Rao was a pioneer in bringing economic reforms in India and was also responsible for putting the nation’s development back on track. He said due to the TRS government in Telangana State, the former Prime Minister who was ignored by his own party leaders earlier was getting his due respect.

TRS NRI-Australia chapter members Arjun Challagulla, Sunil Basireddy, Shiva, Satish Pulipaka, Nishant Gurram, Akash Reddy Methuku, Ashok Reddy Kubbi, Bhargav Jonnavalasa and others participated in the celebrations.
