Birthday wishes pour in for KCR

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the top dignitaries of the country who greeted KCR as he turned 64.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s birthday was celebrated in a grand way with greetings and wishes pouring in from across the country. TRS units functioning in different countries also took the opportunity to greet the architect of Telangana State.

President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, Telangana Governor E S L Narasimhan, Maharashtra Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh were among the top dignitaries who greeted him on the occasion.

Leader of the Opposition in TS Assembly K Janareddy, Jyotiraditya Scindia, MP, and a host of other leaders from across the country conveyed their wishes to the Chief Minister. President Kovind, who conveyed his birthday wishes over phone, wished Rao a long and healthy life.

Modi tweets

“On his birthday. I convey my greetings to Telangana CM , KCR Garu. I Pray for his wonderful health and long life” tweeted Mr. Modi. For lakhs of people, especially the beneficiaries of the flagship programmes of the State government, K Chandrashekhar Rao turning 64 today was a special occasion.

Farmers, benefited by a plethora of initiatives taken up by the Chief Minister performed Ksheerabhishekam to his portrait at several places. Special pujas and homams were performed at all major temples in the State capital and districts, wishing good heath and long life for the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister started his day in a traditional way by performing ‘puja’ early in the day at “Maisamma Ammavaru” temple in Pragati Bhavan complex. Chandrashekhar Rao, along with all his family members, took the blessings of his guru, V Mrityunjaya Sharma and felicitated him.

Stream of visitors

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali was among the first to greet the Chief Minister. A majority of his Cabinet colleagues, MPs, MLAs and MLCs also wished him on the occasion at Pragati Bhavan. Top bureaucrats of the State as well as senior IPS officers joined the crowds who wished the Chief Minister on his 64th birthday.

Nizamabad MP K Kavitha and Ministers Talasani Srinivas Yaday and Alolla Indrakaran Reddy performed special poojas praying for his good health at Mahankali temple in Secunderebad. They performed a homam in the temple and distributed sewing machines to women.

At Jalavihar, party loyalists distributed sarees to women and tri-cycles to physically challenged persons. Telangana Bhavan was agog with activity with the party activists, especially those from the TRS youth wing and students wing, organising blood donation camps. The Nizamabad MP cut a huge cake to celebrate her father’s birthday.

Ailing boy’s wish fulfilled

The desire of 11-year-old Vignesh, who is suffering from an ailment, to meet Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, was fulfilled. The CM specially invited Vignesh to Pragati Bhavan on the occasion of his birthday and spoke to him and his parents about his ailment and treatment he had been undergoing. The CM’s handshake filled Vignesh with joy. The Chief Minister assured the boy and his family that government will bear all his medical expenses.
