Warangal Urban: Bandi Sanjay, BJP MP from Karimnagar, on Friday alleged that the TRS government was not celebrating Telangana Liberation Day, which falls on September 17, officially due to minority appeasement and vote bank politics.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the BJP would go ahead with hoisting the national flag on September 17 at all government offices. “We are not bothered or afraid of lathi-charge or arrests by the police. We will mobilise people for Telangana Liberation Day celebrations,” he said and appealed to the TRS cadres also to come out openly and join the celebrations.
Criticising the TRS for inducting leaders who opposed the creation of Telangana State into the party, he said, “Those who worked against Statehood for Telangana are now sailing with the TRS. And those who really worked for the cause were pushed into oblivion.”
“As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebrations on September 17, the BJP would be conducting a week long programme from September 14 to 20. The party will celebrate the event across the country distributing fruits at hostels and hospitals,” he said, and added that party would conduct special medical and blood donation camps. BJP State vice-president M Dharma Rao, district president Rao Padma and others were present.
