It was the store launch of Mugdha, inaugurated by Samantha Akkineni, on Sunday morning that made the neighbourhood wake up to and reverberate to the tuneful sounds of mridangam and nadaswaram. Located at Banjara Hills, the new store’s collection was presented by designer Sashi Vangapalli, the woman behind Mugdha, with the Rangasthalam actor.

Spread across with a huge range of saris – Sashi and her team gave the quintessential saris a minimalist makeover. It is the second flagship store of the brand on the fashion map which has a pick for every occasion and gives a rich heritage touch to every design.

“It is essential to preserve the tradition, yet give woman the look they desire for. It is also an effort to create an impact and save the weavers of India,” says the designer. Talking more about the collection, Samantha narrates, “There is a piece for everyone essaying the vibrant colours and the aura. It is elegant and comfortable. It surely stands out with its uniqueness.”

Kanchipuram pattu saris, which, as always, seem to be creating their own aura for this wedding season, are the main attraction here. From motifs to fine detailing, the collection of these saris are vibrant and are custom-designed to suit the modern Indian brides.

The store also includes stocks of Banarasi, Paithani, Jamdani, Ikkat, Gadwal and a lot more varieties of saris in pretty amazing designs. Not just that, the collection offers bespoke options for men too from sherwanis to bandhgalas.

All under one roof, Mughda does offer an exclusive hand-crafted ethnic designs which are not only stylish but also take care of the comfort factor.
