Fashion without accessories, is only half the fun. Bearing that in mind Lakme Fashion Week, is back with the third edition of ‘The Real Cut’. A one-of-a-kind initiative, ‘The Real Cut’, was first launched in Summer/Resort 2019, providing a platform to young and emerging natural diamond jewellery designers from across the country associated with leading jewellery retailers, practising their craft for the past three to eight years to reach the fashion industry globally.

The winners are evaluated on parameters ranging from quality, innovation, and marketability to originality and ability to take their business to the next level.

Deepa Agarwal for Sona Chandi Jewellers, Kinnari Shah from Reliance Jewels, Riddhi Shah for BR Designs, Ashraf Motiwala and team for AS Motiwala, Sourav Hanra for Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers and Subhajit Bag for Senco Gold and Diamonds were handpicked from amongst 59 promising applicants by an esteemed jury from the jewellery and fashion fraternity in Mumbai on January 10.

Jaspreet Chandok, head of lifestyle business, IMG Reliance, said, “We are absolutely thrilled to be back with yet another season of ‘The Real Cut’. The collaboration is a celebration of the best talent in fashion and jewellery design. In its 20th year, Lakme Fashion Week’s endeavor to support and nurture talent continues to grow, and we are glad to have partners like Diamond Producers Association with us.”

Richa Singh, managing director – India, Diamond Producers Association (DPA), said, “The natural diamond jewellery that we’ve come across this season is not just highly creative, but also crafted keeping the consumer in mind… Natural diamonds have the unique ability to transcend generations and still remain relevant, making them the perfect epitome of slow fashion.”

Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020 is scheduled to be held from February 12 to 16 at JioWorld Garden BKC, Mumbai.
