Hyderabad: A book on history of rural administration in Telangana along with the observations by the author Professor Maramraju Satyanarayana on the subject, was released here on Wednesday.
The book, ‘Telangana Gramayanam’, provides information on rural administration, revenue system and taxation in the region under the rule of the Nizams and the erstwhile Hyderabad State.
Speaking at the book release function, Telangana State Public Services Commission Chairman Professor Ghanta Chakrapani said the detailed history of administration in the book would also serve as a pointer for the State Government as it serves the people of the State.
Telangana Media Academy chairman Allam Narayana said the previous administrations of united Andhra Pradesh had destroyed the rural administration systems in the region but claimed that they had brought administrative reforms. But in reality, the changes brought about the governments of erstwhile AP had been the root cause of many land related problems in Telangana, he said.
Among those who were present on the occasion were Jwala Narasimha Rao, Chief Public Relations Officer to the Chief Minister, Director of the Swamy Ramananda Tirtha Rural Institute, Dr Nara Kishore Reddy, and well-known poet and Kaloji award recipient Dr Sitaram.
