Hyderabad: Bike and car servicing get a technology assistance. Doers, a multi-brand service brand, launched its operations in Hyderabad. It offers a technology platform that simplifies scheduling vehicle service for users and also generate leads for designate workshops.

While the service paraphernalia remains same, customers can book an appointment online or via call. It now has 25 service workshops in the city and an equal number are planned in ten months, according to Mahesh Shetkar, Head-Business Development and Strategy Planning, Doers.

“Many people find it a challenge to take out time for servicing their vehicles. We are addressing this pain point. Most customers prefer pick-and-drop services rather than doorstep vehicle repair,” he said, adding that the prices are relatively lower than those of authorised showrooms.
The prices at its paint shops are relatively lower by about 45 per cent, he said.

Doers offers a free pick up and drop of the vehicles. Minor repairs will be attended immediately as the technicians will come with spare parts. It also provides restoration, fuel delivery, breakdown assistance and towing, flat-tyre changing and assistance with locks. These services are charged based on the distance involved, he said.

“The service stations belong to our partners. We first diagnose the vehicle and send a report to the customers identifying the problems, the spare that will be required and their associated costs. We proceed with service after customers give their nod,” he said, adding that Doers will use genuine spares and also give back the replaced parts to customers as a proof. It has tied up with local vendors to supply the spares.

It now has about 125 trained personnel. It takes about four hours for servicing a two-wheeler and about seven hours for a car.

On the revenue model, Shetkar said it will charge the customers coming on its platform and it shared by the service providing workshop partners. “We will focus adding more layers of technology to make the entire process of servicing more transparent and cost-effective from the users’ perspective.
