On the occasion of the ‘World Environment Day’, Heartfulness Institute organised a programme to spread awareness on the importance of trees. Supported by WWF and HYSEA, the day’s programme included large-scale plantation of more than 5,000 saplings.
The programme was held at the global headquarters of Heartfulness at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Chegur village, Hyderabad.
Commenting on the programme, Kamlesh D Patel, global guide of Heartfulness, said, “It’s encouraging to see the corporate community actively participating towards the sustainability cause. The activity is in continuation of our sustained efforts over the last four years on our ‘Green Kanha’ initiative. As part of it, more than 2.5 lakh trees of over 675 species have been planted and nurtured at Kanha Shanti Vanam, resulting in the creation of a positive micro-climate in the region.”
