Hyderabad: The Keesara police on Wednesday arrested a notorious burglar who was allegedly involved in more than 150 cases.
Gold and silver, all worth about Rs 10 lakh, was recovered from L Uma Maheshwar Rao alias Munna of Srikakulam, who was involved in 14 cases in Hyderabad alone. K Yadamma of Cherlapally, who gave him shelter and bought stolen goods from him, was also arrested.
According to the police, Munna was first nabbed by the Tekkali police in a burglary case, after which he had gone to be involved in more than 150 cases. He was arrested by the police in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in various cases. In Hyderabad, he was involved in cases at Keesara and Kushaiguda, officials said.
