Mahabubnagar/ Vikarabad: Burglars made away with Rs 2 lakh after breaking open shutters of four shops some time during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The burglars lifted the shutters of Dalmiya Cement, MRF and John Deere dealership stores, apart from a general store, which are located on the main road leading to Mahabubnagar town from Bhootpur mandal headquarters. Police have started investigating the case by gathering evidence from the stores and CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas.

In another incident, a wine shop owner complained to Kodangal police in Vikarabad district that some unidentified persons had looted Rs 2 lakh from the shop on Thursday, after threatening him with a gun. Kodangal police have started investigating based on the complaint and have found that there was no way on could enter or exit the store. Kodangal police informed Telangana Today that they were also investigating into the angle of it being a false complaint.
