Hyderabad: All leading organisations are using Business Analytics/Big Data Analytics to compete and thrive. But there is a severe shortage of qualified data scientists, who are able to extract knowledge from Big Data.
Recognising the importance of business analytics as a discipline and the shortage of qualified data scientists, the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) is conducting a five-day certificate course ‘Business Analytics using R’ for working professionals from July 19.
According to Prof Sobhan Babu, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT-H, “Big data analytics/Business Analytics is a discipline which is changing our lives drastically. It is touching every area of human society from banking to health care.”
The course is tailor-made for those working professionals who want to enhance their knowledge in business analytics as well as for those who are looking for career shift to business analytics. The course will be taught by well qualified faculty from IIT-H and experienced data scientists from the industry.
The certificate course will provide participants with knowledge and essential skills needed to address the challenges of data intensive decision-making environments. The IIT-H said it is a case-study based course, with participants getting extensive hands-on training using the open source R statistical software, whose popularity has increased substantially in recent years. Participants must have undergraduate level mathematical or statistical maturity.
Enrolment for the programme has begun and registration is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. For more details, visit http://www.iith.ac.in/BA/current_courses.html or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
