Hyderabad: Telangana State has been adjudged as the State with best urban infrastructure by prominent publication Business World. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao also has been declared winner of the ‘Leader of the Year’ award by the national business weekly. The awards will be presented at the Fifth National Smart City Conference to be held in New Delhi on December 20.
Union Minister of State for Urban Development Hardeep Singh Puri will present the awards.
In a statement, Business World appreciated Rama Rao for presenting the young State of Telangana in a new perspective to the world using Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 as a platform. It has also considered various other aspects like increasing investments in Telangana State and role of the Minister in developmental initiatives that has not only brought him national recognition but also helped Telangana State to strengthen its position as an investment destination.
Similarly, Telangana State has been adjudged as the State with best urban infrastructure. Novel initiatives like Mission Bhagiratha (Urban), Haritha Haaram and Double Bedroom Housing schemes in urban areas have received immense appreciation. The proposed national conference in New Delhi will discuss these issues for development of smart, safe and sustainable cities. An exhibition will be organised on integrated transportation, smart healthcare and digital solutions for urban problems.
