Capacity building session on GIGW Compliance Project (GCP) by IT, E&C dept held

As part of this exercise, initiated by the IT and Electronics and Communication Department the first capacity building session on GIGW was held on Friday at ASCI.

Hyderabad: A one-day capacity building session on Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) for nodal officers nominated from various departments of the State government was held at Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) on Friday.

The capacity building session was organised after Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), K. T. Rama Rao instructed officials to make all State government websites user-centric, user-friendly and accessible, a statement said.

The IT and Electronics and Communication Department (IT, E&C) had initiated GIGW Compliance project (GCP) and prepared action plan to carry out the compliance process in a phase-wise manner.

As part of this exercise, the first capacity building session on GIGW was held on Friday at ASCI.

The IT, E&C department officials, led by Director, Digital Media, Dileep Konatham, gave hands-on orientation on a host of relevant the topics.

Another aim of the capacity building session was to retro-fit all the Government websites and make them comply with GIGW.

The IT, E&C Department is expected to complete the first Phase of GCP by April month-end and submit the Compliance Report by May 31, to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
