Hyderabad: A car was gutted on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Rajendranagar here on Friday afternoon.
According to Fire Services officials, the incident was around 12.20 p.m. when the car was heading towards Shamshabad. After it reached the Rajendranagar Police outpost, the fire was triggered reportedly due to an electric short circuit inside the engine.
The car driver, whose details are yet to be ascertained, was the only person present inside the vehicle then.
“After noticing the smoke through the dashboard, he got out of the car immediately,” police said, adding that he was safe and not hurt.
On receiving information, one fire tender from Rajendranagar Fire Station was rushed to the spot to douse the flames. A case was registered and investigation is on.
