Car washed away in stream, four rescued in Khammam

A businessman of Brahmanpalli in the mandal, Nageswar Rao and three friends were travelling in a car that tried to cross the bridge over the stream and were washed away

Four persons had a miraculous escape as a car they were travelling in was washed away in Chinabeeravalli stream in Bonakal mandal of Khammam district on Friday.

Khammam: Four persons travelling in a car were rescued by locals even as they were being washed away by sudden increase in flow at Chinabeeravalli stream in Bonakal mandal of Khammam district on Friday.

According to sources, the stream started overflowing due to sudden rains on Thursday night. A businessman of Brahmanpalli in the mandal, Nageswar Rao and three friends were travelling in a car that tried to cross the bridge over the stream and were washed away.

The District Rajaka Sangham president T Brahmam, local fisherman Ashok and others who witnessed the car being washed away in the stream rushed to their rescue. When the car was struck in the bushes along the stream, they broke the car windows open and saved them.
