Hyderabad: A complaint of cheating was lodged against the makers of multilingual film ‘Saaho’ by Outshiny India Private Limited at the Madhapur police station on Thursday.

The complaint was filed by Vijay Rao, marketing head of Outshiny India, which manufactures luggage bags under the brand name of ‘Arctic Fox’. He alleged that V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati, Vikram Reddy and Himak Duvvuru from UV Creations, which produced the movie, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the company to promote their brand in the movie.

“As per the agreement, the producer will ensure that the brand is showcased in scenes acted by Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor. Our product was to be used in the movie and we paid Rs 37 lakh,” Vijay Rao said.

But, when the movie was released, the producers did not use the bag. “We spent around Rs 1 crore on advertisements to promote the movie and our company brand,” he alleged, asking the police to book a cheating case against the makers.
