Case booked against driver, tanker owner in Hyderabad

HMWSSB said the unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday and assured that such incidents would not be repeated and clean drinking water would be served to all its customers.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has lodged a complaint and a criminal case has been booked with Kukatpally police station against a driver and tank owner after a video of the driver washing his feet in the water tanker while filling water at Moosapet station was shared on social networking websites.

HMWSSB said the unfortunate incident occurred on Thursday and assured that such incidents would not be repeated and clean drinking water would be served to all its customers. It further said the “Actuators” cum Automatic Tanker Fillers were provided at Jubilee Hills Tanker Filling stations on trial basis wherein, the sensors based on “IOT- Internet of Things” are used to eliminate manual intervention.

The automatic tanker filler dispenses water into tanker without any manual intervention. Based on the outcome of the trial run at Jubilee Hills water filling station, HMWSSB has planned to provide the “Actuators” in all its tanker filling stations in the next two months, said a press release.
