Central team takes stock of Covid situation in Telangana

Hyderabad: The State government in coordination with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), New Delhi will formulate an action plan to fight Covid-19 for the next two months keeping in view the likely increase in the positive cases.

On Monday, the Central team led by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), New Delhi, Luv Agarwal, who met Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar and other senior officials, has urged the authorities to focus on containment measures, increasing testing capacity, tracing and clinical management in the State.

The Central team visited the Telangana Institute of Medical Science (TIMS), Gachibowli, Gandhi Hospital, containment area of Dhobigalli in Domalaguda and took stock of the ground-level situation. Later they met the Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar, and other senior officers and held a detailed discussion on the steps to be taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The health department made a detailed presentation on the steps taken on Covid-19 management in the State. The surveillance and containment measures, hospital preparedness, procurement of protection equipment, preventive measures were briefed to the central team.

Special Chief Secretary to Health, Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Arvind Kumar, central team members including Sanjay Jaju, Dr. Ravindran, Yogita Rana, Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Lokesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC, Swetha Mohanty, Collector, Hyderabad, Amoy Kumar, Collector Rangareddy, Venkateswarlu, Collector, Medchal were present.
