With just two more days for Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s wedding to take place, Akkineni Nagarjuna is excited and says that all the arrangements are done for the private event which will take place at Goa on October 6 and 7. On the other hand, Nagarjuna’s upcoming movie Raju Gari Gadhi 2 will reveal the mystery of the ghost to the audience on October 13. The film will have Samantha playing the ghost and is directed by Ohmkar. Not sure about having time after the wedding, the actor interacted with the media yesterday and has shared a lot more about the two important occasions he is excited about.
“I told both my boys that my duty of performing their wedding will be perfectly organised and so, I gave them the liberty of choosing their life partners. We feel fortunate to have Samantha as our daughter-in-law. The wedding is going to be performed according to both Hindu and Christian traditions. Only the immediate family members, from Akkineni, Daggubati and Samantha’s family, will be taking part in the wedding. After we are back to Hyderabad, a lavish reception will be held and the date will be announced soon,” said the actor.
The actor has now said a bye to solo and romantic roles and is looking forward to play character based roles such as in Oopiri and now in Raju Gari Gadhi 2 as Rudra, a Mentalist who deals with murder and ghost mysteries. If everything goes well, he will be seen in other entertaining character, next to Nani, which will be directed by Sriram Aditya. When asked if he had any homework or research before playing a Mentalist, Nagarjuna said, “I met a few mentalists to know what exactly they do. One of them so was perfect that whatever I was thinking in my mind, he revealed all of them correct. It is about knowing what the opposite person is thinking, just with their body movements.”
He agreed that the film has been delayed or else would have been released long back. The reason for this was the huge VFX which was pending and the technicians were from Mumbai. “I suggested Ohmkar and others from the crew to choose someone from our industry. But they have fixed in their minds that only Mumbai people can do it better. As they weren’t from our industry, they wouldn’t know how important the film was for us. They just do the billing and we just pay,” he said.
When asked if the plan of Samantha playing the ghost was already in the script or if he suggested her to do, he laughed and said, “I wouldn’t want to look at my daughter -in-law as a ghost on screen. Now I leave it up to my son on how he wants to look at her. Chaitanya is not even ready to watch the film. But, keeping jokes aside, Samantha has performed well as a ghost. She will not be seen throughout the film, but at a few instances. The complete crew has worked hard and gave our best to the film. If this becomes a hit, a sequel will be planned,” he shrugged
